Sheepdog Theatre’s Romeo & Juliet transports Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy to the vibrant, yet volatile world of 1860s Japan, where the clash between East and West creates a backdrop of tension and transformation.

In the rapidly changing city of Yokohama, Romeo, a foreigner, and Juliet, a Japanese girl bound by tradition, find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Their relationship unfolds amidst a society grappling with the collision of old and new with the young lovers determined to defy the odds and be together.
